How do dashboard roles and permissions work?

Understand Admin and Member access, personal-data controls, exports, Shopify actions and teammate invitations.

STUDIO has two assignable roles: Admin and Member. Partners use Member accounts; there is no separate partner role. A designated owner account has protected admin access.

Admin access

Admins have full access and cannot have individual permissions switched off. They can add teammates by email on Users, choose Admin or Member, set member permissions, revoke sessions, delete members and view the audit log. Only the designated owner can remove another admin. The owner account cannot be deleted.

What a new member can see

A new member starts with Overview, Tour Dashboard, Album, Merch, Fans, Fan Chat and Marketing visible. Admins can turn pages off for each member. Members cannot open Users or manage teammates.

Personal-data access (PII), Fan export, Merch export, Shopify sync and Chat moderation are off by default. Names appear as initials, emails are partly hidden and phone numbers show only the last four digits. Unmasked personal details and addresses require PII permission. The server sends the masked identity values when that permission is unavailable.

Financial and activity data

Revenue figures are visible on enabled pages; there is no separate switch that hides money. Masking identity does not hide per-fan spend, purchase history or message text on pages the member can access. For partners who should not see that detail, turn off Fans, Fan Chat and any relevant hotel views.

Exporting fan and order data

A member needs PII permission and the matching Fan export or Merch export permission. The PII toggle in the sidebar must also be on when downloading. Fan-related downloads include the fan database, presale signups and chat exports. Order downloads, including Export for Shopify, use Merch export plus PII.

Managing orders and chat

Viewing orders, sync status and the SKU map requires Merch page access. Pushing or retrying Shopify orders, repairing addresses, changing the SKU map and editing Shopify settings additionally require Shopify sync. Banning or unbanning fans requires the separate Chat moderation permission.

Marketing and release changes

Members with Marketing access can view connection status, sync history, schedule and contact counts. Connecting Dotdigital, starting a sync and changing its schedule are admin-only actions.

Release dates, minimum prices and other release settings are not editable in the dashboard by admins or members. Request these changes from your EVEN team so they can be implemented and published through the release workflow.
