Can we message fans by segment?
How you define an audience segment on a STUDIO campaign, what Smart Segments are, how a send reaches them, and how segments and fan data move into your own CRM.
Yes. You can message fans by segment: top spenders, a single city, presale signups, lapsed buyers, or whatever other cut the campaign needs. You send from the Marketing tab, or push the segment into your CRM and send from there.
What a segment can be
You build segments around the campaign instead of picking from a fixed menu. You can message fans by what they spend, by where they live, by whether they signed up for the presale, or by whether they have bought recently. If the campaign needs a different cut of the fanbase, you message that cut. You can also filter an audience by purchase amount, location, purchase date and music preferences.
Smart Segments
Smart Segments are audiences built from how fans actually behave on the artist’s site. They are ready to target as they are, so you can send to one without building it first.
Sending to a segment
Fan Connect is the email and SMS campaign tool built into the STUDIO. Email is free, SMS is $0.01 per text, and WhatsApp is available for global territories. You pick the audience, choose email or SMS, build the message from a template or from scratch, and then send it straight away or schedule it.
Pushing a segment into your own systems
Segments and other fan data can transfer to supported systems with consent and unsubscribe status. Confirm the fields, direction and cadence of the connection with EVEN. Downloaded files remain snapshots that your team must keep current. Dotdigital connection and sync actions in the dashboard are admin-only.
Who sets this up
Your EVEN team configures segments with you as part of the campaign build. You describe the cut of the fanbase the campaign needs and they set it up, so nobody on your side has to learn a segment builder during release week. A segment you built for a release is still there for the merch drop and the tour that follow it.
