Who is the merchant of record?
Responsibility depends on whether the campaign uses EVEN checkout or Shopify checkout.
The checkout model determines the merchant-of-record responsibilities. Confirm that model during campaign setup.
EVEN checkout
Fans pay on the STUDIO site. EVEN is the merchant of record and handles payments, transaction taxes, refunds and fan support under the agreement. Paid physical orders are sent to Shopify for the agreed fulfillment workflow.
Shopify checkout
STUDIO buy buttons open the partner’s Shopify checkout. The partner’s store remains the seller and handles payments, taxes, refunds and returns. EVEN reads the resulting order and customer information to support fans and their profiles.
Physical returns and shipping
All physical returns require partner approval. Your existing fulfillment partner can remain in place, or shipping can be arranged with EVEN. Confirm the handling, costs and return policy before launch.
Fees and accounting
EVEN’s physical-sales fee is 5% of physical product sales excluding taxes and shipping under either checkout model. Settlement timing and deductions follow the existing agreement.
