How do product variants work on a chart campaign?
Plan physical variants, inventory and purchase limits within the chart rules for each territory.
STUDIO supports variant pricing, limited runs, signed editions and purchase limits. Chart-qualifying offers must follow the rules for their territory. EVEN reviews the product and variant plan during setup.
What you can put on sale
You can put vinyl variants, CDs and soft goods on sale, with limited editions, signed copies and one-per-customer rules wherever you want them. Each variant carries its own price, so you can put a signed edition or a colored pressing above or below the standard edition. You set limited runs and purchase limits per variant, so a small pressing reaches more individual fans instead of a few buyers ordering in bulk.
Territory-specific variant limits
The US Billboard/Luminate framework includes a four-variant D2C exclusive cap. Do not apply that US limit as a universal UK rule. Confirm the relevant variant limits and qualifying offers with EVEN before sales open.
Options within a product
Merch products can also carry options such as size and color. The fan picks when they buy, and their choice comes through with the order, so fulfillment ships the right item.
Stock and territory
Shopify remains the source of truth for inventory. The app syncs hourly, and EVEN checkout also checks stock live. Inventory decrements for EVEN orders are off by default; agree that setting before launch. Availability can be set by product and territory, with orders routed to the appropriate store.
Changing variants once you are live
You can change pricing, products and content while the campaign is live. Chart-sensitive changes go through your EVEN team, which keeps the chart bodies notified. If you are not sure whether a change counts as chart-sensitive, ask in the shared campaign thread before you make it.
