How does EVEN prevent bulk buying, bots, and duplicate purchases?
The controls that keep STUDIO sales clean: card fingerprinting, one-time-code sign-in, automated traffic filtering, bulk screening, redemption-based reporting, chargeback handling, and unique presale codes.
On releases where qualifying sales can be reported under applicable chart rules, each fan can buy once. The anti-fraud controls behind that limit run on every campaign, not only on the ones that report to the charts. Clean sales are designed into the platform rather than added on.
The layers
Several checks run at the same time. Card fingerprinting catches the same payment method turning up across different accounts. One-time-code sign-in on every account means no passwords and no bulk account creation. reCAPTCHA and email verification filter out automated traffic. Bulk screening then runs across the whole campaign, catching patterns that pass each check one at a time but fall apart once you look at the campaign as a whole.
Why redemption matters here
Qualifying digital pre-orders are reported after the fan authenticates and plays or downloads on or after street date. An unredeemed purchase is not reported. Redemption works alongside account, payment and offer controls; it does not guarantee that abuse cannot occur.
What chart bodies can see
EVEN makes customer breakouts available to Luminate, Billboard and the Official Charts Company on request. If a campaign performs unusually well, EVEN can hand over the underlying data for inspection, because EVEN holds the direct relationships.
Chargebacks and fraud
Refunds, chargebacks and payout deductions follow the agreement and checkout model. EVEN handles chargebacks as merchant of record for EVEN checkout; the partner’s store handles its Shopify-checkout payments. Reporting corrections follow the applicable chart process and should be confirmed with EVEN.
Presales
Tour presale codes are protected the same way. Each code is unique to a verified fan and goes out privately by text and email, so codes never sit somewhere public where brokers can scrape them.
