How do STUDIO sales qualify for the UK Official Charts?
Plan UK digital-album offers, early access, pricing, redemption and reporting under the approved OCC framework.
Qualifying STUDIO digital-album sales can be reported to the Official Charts Company (OCC) and Kantar. The rules below describe EVEN’s approved UK direct-to-fan framework. OCC determines chart eligibility; the US Billboard/Luminate rules are separate.
Give 14 days’ notice for every campaign
EVEN sends written notification to OCC and Kantar at least 14 days before the campaign launches. This applies to every UK campaign, including one using an existing storefront. Supply the artist, title, label, UPC and ISRCs, storefront URL, pre-order window, street date, offer, early-access tracks, pricing, delivery method and contacts.
Tell EVEN about any material change promptly so OCC and Kantar can be notified within one business day.
Price and purchase requirements
The minimum fan price is £5.49. Pay-what-you-want pricing may go above that floor; reporting uses the amount actually paid. Each fan must make one authenticated digital-album purchase. Do not bundle the qualifying offer with tickets, merch or physical products, or attach competitions, vouchers or unrelated gifts. Do not use a free permanent album download as an incentive.
Early tracks and the locked album
Before street date, no more than 50% of the album can be available through exclusive D2C early access and tracks already available on streaming services combined. Previously released tracks count toward that limit. Exclusive early tracks remain exclusive until street date. Lock the tracklist and do not expand the album after release. The label decides whether downloads are available.
A paid pre-order must be redeemed
A sale becomes reportable after the fan authenticates and engages with the album on or after street date. An unredeemed pre-order is not reported. Playback can establish redemption; a download is optional. Reporting includes the delivery flag and redemption timestamp.
What EVEN reports
EVEN submits daily UK transaction files using UK billing-country records, GBP amounts and the actual amount paid. Account verification, email checks, reCAPTCHA and card-fingerprint controls support one purchase per fan. EVEN retains the payment and redemption records needed for audit and responds to chart queries.
What the label must provide
The label provides the pre-order count before street date and redemption, plus the campaign’s marketing documentation, and keeps that documentation current. EVEN sends reminders and manages its reporting responsibilities, but the label remains responsible for these submissions and the approved offer.
Plan before opening sales
Give EVEN the complete release, pricing and marketing plan before announcing the offer. Registration, offer eligibility and fan redemption are separate requirements; completing one does not replace the others.
