How do presale codes reach fans?

How each fan gets their own presale code and redeems it, why none are posted publicly, what to check when one fails, and what the signup leaves the campaign with afterward.

Each fan gets their own presale code, sent by text and email when the tour goes live, and redeems it at the ticketer. No codes circulate publicly on social, so bots and brokers have nothing to pick up from a post.

How a fan gets one

Fans sign up on the artist’s site before the tour goes live. When it goes live, their code arrives by text and email with instructions for the ticketer. The code belongs to that fan alone, and codes go only to fans who signed up.

Why nothing is posted publicly

Anyone who sees a code posted on social can use it, including bots and brokers. Sending each fan their own code closes that off. Every code belongs to one person, so a code that leaks costs you that one code rather than the whole presale.

When a code does not work

There are three things to check, in order. First, make sure the fan is on the right ticketer page for their show and date. Second, make sure they entered the code exactly as it was sent. Third, make sure they are using their own code, because every code is unique to one fan. If it still fails, the fan emails support@even.biz with the code and the show, and EVEN handles the case so the artist’s team does not have to.

Waitlists after a show sells out

Waitlists come with the module. When a date sells out, fans open that date on the tour page and join its waitlist, and EVEN notifies them as spots open. The waitlist runs per date, so a fan waiting on one night is not waiting on the whole tour, and your team can see the demand sitting behind a sold-out show.

What the signup gives the campaign

Your fan data comes out of the presale signup. Registration turns a fan who wanted a ticket into a named fan the campaign can contact again, for the next date, the next tour or the next release. Presale signups are one of the segments you can message directly, either from the Marketing tab or after pushing them into your CRM, and Touring connects to the CRM and presale stack your team already uses.
